Basic English

နာမ် (Nouns)ဆိုသည်မှာ သက်ရှိ၊ သက်မဲ့၊ ဒြပ်ရှိ၊ ဒြပ်မဲ့အရာဟူသမျှကို ခေါ်ဝေါ်သမုတ်ထားသည့် အမည်မှန်သမျှဖြစ်ပါသည်။

၁။      အနည်းကိန်း နှင့် အများကိန်း (cat à cats) [နာမ်တွေကို အနည်းမှအများကို ပြောင်းတဲ့အခါ (s, ies, es) တွေကို ပေါင်းထည့်တာရှိသလို၊ (s, ies, es) နဲ့ မဆုံးတဲ့ (ပုံမှန်မဟုတ်တဲ့) အများကိန်းကို ဖော်ပြတဲ့နာမ်တွေလည်း ရှိပါတယ်။]

(က)    နာမ်အနည်းကိန်းကနေ အများကိန်းကို ပြောင်းတဲ့အခါ ‘s’ ကို ပေါင်းထည့်ပေးပါတယ်။

(က)    အောက်ဖော်ပြပါ နာမ်များအား အနည်းမှ အများသို့ ပြောင်းပေးပါ။

(.ခ.)    ဗျည်း (consonants – a, e, i, o, u မဟုတ်သော အက္ခရာများ)ရဲ့ နောက်မှာ ‘y’ နဲ့ဆုံးမယ် ဆိုရင်တော့ ‘y’ ကို ဖြုတ်ပြီး ‘ies’ ပေါင်းထည့်ပေးပါတယ်။ သရ (vowels – a, e, i, o, u) ရဲ့ နောက်မှာ ‘y’ လိုက်မယ်ဆိုရင်တော့ ‘s’ ပဲ ပေါင်းထည့်ပေးရမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ (ဥပမာ- boy – boys)

ch, x, sh, ss, s နဲ့ဆုံးတဲ့ နာမ်(nouns)တွေရဲ့ နောက်မှာတော့ ‘es’ ပေါင်းထည့်ပေးရပါတယ်။
